> PETRIE SKATEPARK PETITION
Hi guys, in the recent QLD floods the park in Mungarra Reserve, Petrie was moved around quite a bit. The park is pretty much useless at the moment. It was only built a year ago and a 14 year old designed it. It's not the best, to put it nicely. I'd like to see a redesign, maybe Ben Ventress could you please get on board and work out something similar to your redo of Zillmere skate park? I have created a petition at
http://www.PetitionOnline.com/Mungarra/petition.html
I would really appreciate it if everyone could sign it, I have contacted the council and apparently they were unaware of the damage. I see it as a blessing in disguise and now we can get a better park.
I know those facebook groups are pretty lame, but the council are going to be looking at both petition and the group, please if you could join this group I'd really appreciate it.
Cheers guys!

The park was never hooked up to any water bubblers or anything, it's not really a problem to crew that bring tallies, and we often take a bbq and esky down there but for a lot of the younger guys it's a real bummer. Check out how far the bank got pushed to. Note the small box has been moved in first pic too. Please help me get this sorted out with a better park, as the original left a lot to be desired, and according to council cost 100k. What did Zillmere come in at, Ben, was it 60 or 80k? And so much better.
I live next door to petrie and didnt even realise there was a park there. Is that right on the river ??
Note that all the ramps are hollow and prefabricated. I'm no engineer but if they were solid would they not have moved? As soon as water came up they started floating.

Yep, at the roundabout on Old Dayboro road you want to go left into the housing estate, first left then right at the next roundabout - think it's called affleck ave. But it's pretty much just a flat spot now, only the rail and little manual pad are in right place. We were going to make it a ghetto spot, but what's the point, council have taken everything we've left there so far.
